Introducing

Mobile Food Hygiene

Our most productive software yet.

Is it possible to improve the level of food hygiene in your area, radically improve your productivity, and make all inspections consistent?

That is what we've set out to do.

Faster delivery

The new tablet app lets you do familiar Safer Food Better Business food hygiene inspections more quickly and without the need to return to the office.

It gives you the power to deliver the Report of Inspection and Informal Notices to the food business sooner, by email.

Clearer reports

The Informal Notices are illustrated throughout with photographs taken on the premises.

This make it easier for the food business staff to understand and to take remedial action even when they do not have good English language skills.

No duplication

The Inspection Form, Informal Notices, Letter, and Report of Inspection are created just once on the tablet. It is then synced with your M3 Food Hygiene system.

There is no retyping, or translating, or uploading of photographs required. In almost all cases, you will not need to return to the office.

Less travel

Only where formal action is required will you need to return to the office. Almost all inspections can be completed without returning to the office.

Work anywhere

We built this app to work anywhere - it doesn't even need a mobile signal.

Mary's story

The inspection worksheet was created on M3 as usual, and assigned to Mary.

The next morning, Mary syncs her tablet before leaving the house using her home wifi.

The first food business is difficult to find, so she uses the tablet app to see the map and her position relative to it Finding the food business is easy. Next, she opens the worksheet and studies the previous inspection report, informal notices, and officer's inspection form.

When she arrives at the premises, no-one seems to understand English very well. So Mary uses the tablet app phrasebook to declare herself as the food hygiene inspector and to ask for the manager.

Mary and the food business manager go through the basic information together. During this stage, she asks the food business manager if he would like to receive the inspection report by email, and then adds his email details to the tablet app.

Mary kits up ready for inspecting, which includes using polythene gloves. She now uses the inbuilt stylus to continue.

Using the SFBB checklist on the tablet app she systematically inspects each area, taking notes, selecting and editing standard paragraphs, and adding photos to the informal notices.

Once Mary has finished her hands-on inspection, she sits down and reviews the report with informal notices, and edits it further. She adds in timescales for things to be put right.

Next Mary selects an appropriate letter and edits it. She calculates the score.

Mary then adds enforcement activities, and selects an appropriate response and adds notes.

As she has time before the manager returns, she uses the restaurants wifi hotspot to sync the tablet, and later syncs again to see the draft pdf of the report. It looks okay.

Shortly after, she reviews her findings with the manager, and he accepts the findings.

She completes the worksheet and syncs again. Within an hour the manager has an email with the food hygiene inspection report, and M3 is automatically updated, and Mary is already on her way to the next food business.
